Some creed or another...

Gemma gave me a very funny, yet thought provoking piece to read and I just had to share it with you all. Tell us what you think of it, if you think anything of it at all. hehe :)

Creed of the Prehistoric Man

I the Globalized, Liberalized, and Deregulated Citizen of the World, firmly believe that:

1. Money will give me happiness.

2. Anybody can be rich.
3. I do care for values and principles, my bookshelf is full of them.
4. The Banks and multinationals produce wealth.
5. The poor are so because they do not work hard, and they do not because they do not want to.

6. Though I only mind my own business because I have no time to care for others, still I am a good guy (at heart!).
7. Credit Cards, Mobile Phones, and Satelite TV mean quality life.
8. Everything is fine with me, I just need a short vacation and a few pills.
9. Business, Friendship, Family, Religion, and Politics are separate affairs and should be kept thus.
10. People's problems are theirs, not mine.
11. Developed countries are a paradise and they show us the way.
12. Life is consuming, consuming is living.
13. This present system is workable, it only needs some few patches.
14. What the opinion-makers tell me is a fact.
15. I freely choose my lifestyle, and it makes me different from the rest.
16. National governments are free to decide their Economic Policies.
17. Ultimately, everything I believe is relative.
18. Everything ends with Death.

If you can agree with at least 5 of the above statements, you have won an audience with Iococca, Ambani or Bill Gates, your choice!

A little History for you my dears...

inter/rap/tion all started on some lovely Sunday afternoon in 2005 between a group of Socially concerned, wacky friends & intrigued acquaintances with the vision of making a difference through the spectacular world of the Arts.

With a thesaurus, a dictionary and scrap paper in hand, Gemma, Danielle, Bianca and a few other forgotten-the-names-off-individuals (forgive me!) started throwing ideas in the air. Eventually, these words landed on our scrap paper and materialized into what we now call inter/rap/tion.

With the help of patience & humor, Gemma and Danielle were able to release the first Newsletter Issue on November of 2005 which was scattered around Metro Manila and landed on the coffee tables of the lovely I Love You Store as well as in the homes of friends and family who were gracious enough to listen to our little socially concerned, artistic butterfly of a publication.

inter/rap/tion went on a long long long hiatus for whatever reason or another, but was obviously always on the minds of its creators. Realizing that the need for a socially-cum-artistically directed publication was stronger than ever, Danielle (that's me!) approached Gemma and the ball started unraveling from there.

So, today, on a lovely Sunday Morning (coincidence much?), marks the beginning of a new reality! A reality that not only entices the mind to dig deeper, but to also feel deeper and act deeper. Jump out of that rat-racer, nihilistic or even hedonistic reality, because honestly, life is so much sweeter with just that small touch of beautiful humanity... :)
