Something on this Man they call Silo...

His name is Silo.
They say he think a lot.
Talks a lot.
Writes a lot.
His name is Silo.

From all the paragraphs that have been through my hands, to all the experiences I have encountered, no other writer has made such an impact on my reality.

A writer of such amazing poetic prose cannot be left in the foreground and even if he tried to, he could never succeed. ;)

If you are a person who on occasion enjoys the long winding road more than the scenic roads to an end, but on occasion doesn't mind taking the shortcut would actually be quite interested in the writings this man Silo has to offer. He not only cuts to the chase, he still allows the beauty of the scenery to shine brightly, if you know what I mean.

Here's just a tidbit of info on Silo, care of the wonderful site, Wikipedia:

Silo, the pen name of Mario Roriguez Cobos is a writer and spiritual leader. Study groups in the late 1960s organized around his works and formed what became the Humanist Movement. He received an honorary doctorate from the National Academy of Sciences of Russia in October 1993

In 2001, in the Annual Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly of General Coordinators of the Humanist Movement, the highest level of interchange for those involved in the organizational structure, in Madrid, Spain, Silo announced his retirement from the affairs of the Humanist Movement, leaving all further development in the hands of this collegiate body that he himself had created.

Since that time, Silo has started a new project, known as Silo's Message. This project is a spiritual development based on some of the earliest forms of meditation exercises developed by Silo in the 60s called the work with the force.

And these are just some of the things Silo has done... Get ready to know & learn more about this great man and what he has contributed to the lives of the people that he has touched, as he has made a tremendous impact... what more in you?

So what exactly is inter/rap/tion, you ask?

We like to have fun here at inter/rap/tion! Fun with a cause. For without a cause, how can anything be worthwhile.

Okay, let's be serious for a minute, or two... hehe

inter/rap/tion is basically a little voice, that hopes to become a big voice. A voice of reason through experiences. It is a voice that speaks with the intent to help set things strait. One would ask "Who are you to set things strait? What gives you the authority to be the strait-setting medium? How do you know that in my perception things are already as strait as they can get?"

Here at inter/rap/tion, we believe that things are not as strait a they can get because of what we see and experience. We are not here to contradict, nor are we here to insult, we are here to connect, through images, words and video, to the core of every Human Being who still believes things can get better, and who wants things to get better. We are not believers of total absolute structure, nor are we believers of total absolute detructure. Here at inter/rap/tion we want to go beyond all that superficiality. We want to CONNECT!!!

Any experience in the realms that have Personal, Social, Economical, Environmental, Political... you name it... identities we want to cover it. The world needs a voice that is fun yet focused in intent because with the obvious restructuring, and even destructuring going on in our reality today, a little focus on reality needs to be our guide.

Fun with a cause here inter/rap/tion... what more could one ask for, ey? ;)

Some creed or another...

Gemma gave me a very funny, yet thought provoking piece to read and I just had to share it with you all. Tell us what you think of it, if you think anything of it at all. hehe :)

Creed of the Prehistoric Man

I the Globalized, Liberalized, and Deregulated Citizen of the World, firmly believe that:

1. Money will give me happiness.

2. Anybody can be rich.
3. I do care for values and principles, my bookshelf is full of them.
4. The Banks and multinationals produce wealth.
5. The poor are so because they do not work hard, and they do not because they do not want to.

6. Though I only mind my own business because I have no time to care for others, still I am a good guy (at heart!).
7. Credit Cards, Mobile Phones, and Satelite TV mean quality life.
8. Everything is fine with me, I just need a short vacation and a few pills.
9. Business, Friendship, Family, Religion, and Politics are separate affairs and should be kept thus.
10. People's problems are theirs, not mine.
11. Developed countries are a paradise and they show us the way.
12. Life is consuming, consuming is living.
13. This present system is workable, it only needs some few patches.
14. What the opinion-makers tell me is a fact.
15. I freely choose my lifestyle, and it makes me different from the rest.
16. National governments are free to decide their Economic Policies.
17. Ultimately, everything I believe is relative.
18. Everything ends with Death.

If you can agree with at least 5 of the above statements, you have won an audience with Iococca, Ambani or Bill Gates, your choice!

A little History for you my dears...

inter/rap/tion all started on some lovely Sunday afternoon in 2005 between a group of Socially concerned, wacky friends & intrigued acquaintances with the vision of making a difference through the spectacular world of the Arts.

With a thesaurus, a dictionary and scrap paper in hand, Gemma, Danielle, Bianca and a few other forgotten-the-names-off-individuals (forgive me!) started throwing ideas in the air. Eventually, these words landed on our scrap paper and materialized into what we now call inter/rap/tion.

With the help of patience & humor, Gemma and Danielle were able to release the first Newsletter Issue on November of 2005 which was scattered around Metro Manila and landed on the coffee tables of the lovely I Love You Store as well as in the homes of friends and family who were gracious enough to listen to our little socially concerned, artistic butterfly of a publication.

inter/rap/tion went on a long long long hiatus for whatever reason or another, but was obviously always on the minds of its creators. Realizing that the need for a socially-cum-artistically directed publication was stronger than ever, Danielle (that's me!) approached Gemma and the ball started unraveling from there.

So, today, on a lovely Sunday Morning (coincidence much?), marks the beginning of a new reality! A reality that not only entices the mind to dig deeper, but to also feel deeper and act deeper. Jump out of that rat-racer, nihilistic or even hedonistic reality, because honestly, life is so much sweeter with just that small touch of beautiful humanity... :)
